Hex-rays Decompiler
From machine code to readable C-like code
The Hex-rays Decompiler turns the raw disassembly of a compiled program back into compact, C-like pseudocode that an engineer can actually read. It works inside IDA Pro, so you can move between assembly and pseudocode on the same database.
It is used for malware analysis, vulnerability research, firmware review and reverse engineering of software for which source is not available. We supply and support the Hex-rays range from Bangalore.
Supported architectures
Twelve decompilers run locally inside IDA Pro.
- x86 (32 / 64-bit)
- ARM (32 / 64-bit)
- MIPS (32 / 64-bit)
- PowerPC (32 / 64-bit)
- ARC
- RISC-V (32 / 64-bit)
- V850 (32-bit)
Key features
Compiler idiom recognition
Recognises the patterns compilers generate and shows them as the simple constructs a developer would have written.
Full type system
Understands C types, structures and function prototypes, and applies them across the output.
Interactive output
Rename variables, change types and watch the pseudocode update straight away.
Concise, structured code
Produces compact pseudocode with structured control flow that is far quicker to read than assembly.
Fast on demand
Generates the pseudocode on the fly, so you can jump between functions without waiting.
Extensible through the SDK
A C++ SDK and scripting APIs let you automate analysis and write your own plugins.
Lower barrier to entry
Analysts who are comfortable with C can start reverse engineering without years of assembly experience.
Products and editions
The decompilers are not sold on their own. They come with IDA Pro, and cloud-based decompilation is included in the entry-level editions.
IDA Free
A free way to start, with a small number of cloud decompilations for x86 binaries.
IDA Classroom Free
For students and teachers, with cloud decompilation for x86 and ARM binaries.
IDA Home
For personal and non-commercial use, with cloud decompilation for one processor family.
IDA Pro
Disassembler, debugger and local decompilers for over 60 processor families. Comes in tiers from Essential to Ultimate, with 2 to 12 decompilers. Includes IDAPython, the C++ SDK and a large plugin community.
IDA Pro Headless
Run IDA analysis without the graphical interface, for scripted and server-side workflows.
IDA Teams
Collaboration add-on that lets several analysts work on the same database.
Private Lumina
Host your own Lumina server to share function metadata inside your organisation.
Training courses
Instructor-led courses on reverse engineering with IDA and the decompiler.
